Ordering
How do I place an order?
Email the studio with the couple names, the date, the list of places and the package you want. You will receive a written reply within one business day with a payment link and a proof timeline. Checkout on this site is being connected; until then orders are invoiced directly by email.
How many places can I include?
The Digital Map includes up to five places, the Print-Ready Bundle and Signature Custom include up to eight. More than eight is possible — ask before ordering and we will confirm what the layout can hold while staying legible.
Can I include places in more than one city?
Yes, but the composition changes. Two nearby cities can share one map. Cities far apart are usually better as a small inset or as two arrangements of the same layout — we will tell you which one will look right before you pay.
Design and geography
Where does the map data come from?
From OpenStreetMap, the open geographic database built by contributors worldwide. Coastlines, rivers, lakes, parks and street geometry are real data, not an illustration. Styling — line weights, colour, which layers survive, where the pins and labels sit — is our design work.
What if a location cannot be found?
Then it is not guessed. If an address is ambiguous, or a business has closed, or a place has two possible positions, it is flagged on the proof and you confirm the placement before the map is finalised.
Is the dashed line a driving route?
No. It is a story line that connects your pins in narrative order. It ignores one-way systems, bridges and traffic logic on purpose — it is meant to read as a journey, not as directions.
Can I change the language of the labels?
Labels are set in the language you provide for place names. We do not translate names automatically — you send the exact wording you want on the map.
Files and printing
What exactly do I receive?
A vector PDF, an SVG and a 300 DPI PNG for every size in your package: 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, A4 and A3 in the Print-Ready Bundle and Signature Custom; 4:5 plus 5×7 in the Digital Map.
Can I print at home?
Yes. The PNG and PDF files are sized for standard paper and print cleanly on a home inkjet or laser printer at 300 DPI. For the best result use matte or fine-art paper rather than glossy photo paper.
Do you ship framed prints?
Not at the moment — the studio sells digital files only. That keeps delivery worldwide and instant, with no shipping cost or customs. Any local or online print shop can produce a framed print from the files, and we are happy to suggest paper and sizing.
Changes and refunds
How many revisions are included?
Unlimited minor revisions on the proof for the Print-Ready Bundle and Signature Custom, and one round for the Digital Map. Moving a pin, correcting a year or fixing spelling is always included. A complete change of places after a proof is issued may be treated as a new order.
What is the refund policy?
Because the product is a digital file made to order, refunds are not offered after final files are delivered. Proofs exist precisely so this does not happen: nothing is finalised until you have seen and approved the layout. If we make an error that you already flagged, we fix it at no cost. Full details are in the refund policy.
Rights
Can I print more than one copy?
The files are licensed for personal use: print as many copies as you like for yourself and to give as gifts. Reselling the files, or selling prints made from them commercially, is not permitted. If you need a commercial licence — for example a venue or a stationer — ask us first.
Can I post the map on social media?
Yes, please do. Crediting @latitudeandlace is appreciated but never required.
