Terms of Service

The terms that apply to orders placed with the studio.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms cover orders placed with Latitude & Lace (“the studio”) for personalised digital map artwork. By placing an order you agree to them. If anything is unclear before you buy, ask us first.

1. What we sell

We sell digital artwork files, made to order. We do not sell physical prints and we do not ship anything. Every order includes design work, a digital proof for your approval, and final files delivered by download link.

2. The order process

  1. You send the brief: names, date, places, and the package you want.
  2. We confirm the price, the delivery timeline and anything that needs clarifying.
  3. Payment is taken. The order enters the design queue once payment clears.
  4. You receive a proof and request any changes.
  5. You approve the proof. Final files are released within one working day of approval.

An order is only accepted once we have confirmed it in writing and payment has been received.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Send place names and addresses accurately. If you give us an approximate location, say so — we will mark it as approximate on the proof.
  • Check the proof carefully for spelling, dates, and pin positions. The approved proof is the version that is produced.
  • Make sure you have the right to use any text or image you ask us to include.
  • Reply within 14 days at each stage. Long gaps may push your delivery date back, and orders that are silent for more than 60 days may be closed.

4. Geographic accuracy

Map geometry comes from open geographic data (OpenStreetMap and similar sources). It is real data, but it is not a survey-grade document and it is not suitable for navigation, legal boundary determination or engineering use. Where a location is uncertain, it is flagged on the proof and finalised only after you confirm it.

5. Proofs and revisions

Minor revisions are included: spelling, a pin moved, a year corrected, a label reworded. The Digital Map includes one round of revisions; the Print-Ready Bundle and Signature Custom include unlimited minor revisions while the proof is open. Substantial changes after the first proof — new places, a different city, a different layout concept — may be quoted as a new order.

6. Delivery

Files are delivered by download link to the email address you used for the order. Typical timings: first proof within three working days of a complete brief; final files within one working day of approval. These are working-day estimates and not a guaranteed deadline. If you have a fixed date — a wedding, an anniversary — tell us before ordering so we can confirm whether it is comfortable.

7. Price and payment

Prices are listed in US dollars and may change at any time; the price confirmed in your order email applies to that order. Payment is handled by our payment provider. Depending on your country, your bank or card issuer may add currency conversion or foreign transaction fees, which are outside our control.

8. Licence and ownership

The artwork is licensed to you for personal use. That means you may print it as many times as you like, display it in your home, and give printed copies as gifts. You may not resell the files, redistribute them, sell prints made from them commercially, or present the design as your own work. Commercial licensing is available on request.

Copyright in the artwork, the map styling and the marker design remains with Latitude & Lace. Geographic data remains subject to the licence of its source, OpenStreetMap data being © OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence.

9. Refunds and cancellations

Because every map is made to order and delivered as a digital file, refunds are not offered once final files have been released. The proof stage exists so you can correct anything before production. Before a proof has been issued, an order may be cancelled and refunded in full. Full details are in the refund policy.

10. Liability

We are responsible for producing the artwork with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for how a third-party printer reproduces it, for paper or colour variation between printers, or for any loss that is not a foreseeable consequence of our error. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order concerned.

11. Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the studio is established. Nothing here removes consumer rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.
